At LokalChain, we believe privacy should be understandable, transparent, and built into the platform from the beginning.
This Privacy Policy explains what information may be collected when you use LokalChain, why it is processed, how it may be protected, and what choices you have regarding your information.
LokalChain is currently in an early stage of development. We follow a data minimization approach, meaning we aim to collect only the information reasonably necessary to operate, secure, and improve the platform.
1. Information We May Collect
Account Information — When you create an account, we may process information such as your email address, username, authentication credentials, account creation date, and account status. Passwords are never stored in readable plain text; authentication credentials are protected using appropriate cryptographic techniques.
Optional Profile Information — You may choose to provide additional information such as a profile picture, display name, biography, website, social media profiles, or other voluntary profile information. Providing this is optional unless otherwise indicated.
Community Activity — When you participate, we may process information relating to posts, comments and replies, votes and reactions, communities you participate in, reports, moderation activity, and other interactions. Some of this information is intentionally public because LokalChain is a community platform.
2. Technical and Security Information
When you access LokalChain, certain technical information may be processed automatically, including IP address, browser and device information, login activity, security events, server logs, and approximate technical location derived from network information.
This information may be used for security, fraud prevention, abuse detection, troubleshooting, and maintaining platform reliability.
3. Contact Information
If you contact LokalChain by email, we may process your name or username, email address, message, selected contact category, and information you voluntarily provide.
⚠️ Please never send passwords, authentication codes, wallet seed phrases, private keys, or other highly sensitive credentials through our contact channels.
4. Why We Process Information
Information may be processed to create and maintain accounts, provide LokalChain's services, display user-generated content, operate communities, provide moderation, prevent spam, fraud, and abuse, protect platform security, respond to support requests, improve platform functionality, diagnose technical problems, and comply with applicable legal obligations.
We aim not to collect information simply because it might become useful someday.
5. Cookies
LokalChain may use cookies or similar technologies. Some cookies may be necessary for authentication, account security, session management, user preferences, and essential platform functionality.
Non-essential cookies, including certain analytics or advertising technologies, may require consent depending on the user's jurisdiction. Where required, LokalChain intends to provide appropriate cookie and consent controls.
6. Analytics
LokalChain may introduce privacy-conscious analytics tools, including services such as Google Analytics, to understand how the platform is used. Where applicable, analytics technologies will be implemented together with appropriate disclosure and consent mechanisms. Users will be informed when material analytics technologies are introduced.

LokalChain may introduce advertising in the future, including services such as Google AdSense. If advertising technologies involving cookies, personalized advertising, measurement, or similar processing are introduced, this Privacy Policy and the platform's consent mechanisms will be updated accordingly. Where required, users will be provided with appropriate choices regarding advertising cookies and personalization.
8. We Do Not Sell Personal Data
LokalChain does not sell users' personal information. Building a sustainable platform should not require secretly selling the personal information entrusted to it.
Information may nevertheless need to be processed by service providers that help operate the platform, subject to appropriate safeguards and applicable law.
9. Service Providers
LokalChain may rely on third-party infrastructure and service providers for functions such as hosting, email delivery, security, authentication, data storage, analytics, content delivery, and advertising.
Only information reasonably necessary for providing those services should be shared with such providers. As LokalChain's infrastructure evolves, relevant providers and disclosures may be updated.
10. International Users
LokalChain is designed as a global platform. Users may access LokalChain from different countries with different privacy laws.
As the platform develops, LokalChain intends to structure its privacy practices with applicable data-protection requirements in mind, including relevant principles under the GDPR and Türkiye's KVKK, where applicable.
11. Data Retention
Personal information should not be retained longer than reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, except where longer retention is required for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or legal obligations. Different categories of information may have different retention periods.
12. Account Deletion
Users may request deletion of their accounts. Following an eligible deletion request, associated personal information should be deleted or anonymized where appropriate, subject to technical and legal requirements.
Some public contributions may remain in anonymized form when necessary to preserve the continuity and integrity of community discussions. For example, a discussion should not necessarily become unreadable because one participant later deletes their account.
13. Your Privacy Choices
Depending on applicable law and the circumstances, users may have rights concerning their personal information, including rights to request information about processing, access certain personal information, request correction of inaccurate information, request deletion where applicable, object to or restrict certain processing, withdraw consent where processing relies on consent, and exercise other rights provided by applicable data-protection law.
Identity verification may be required before certain requests are processed.
14. Security
LokalChain intends to use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. These may include secure password handling, access controls, encrypted connections, security logging, abuse prevention, database access restrictions, and software and infrastructure updates.
However, no internet service can guarantee absolute security. Users are also responsible for protecting their account credentials.
15. Children's Privacy
LokalChain accounts are intended for users aged 16 and older. The platform is not intended to knowingly collect account information from children below the applicable minimum age. Where appropriate, accounts discovered to violate age requirements may be restricted or removed.
16. Changes to This Policy
LokalChain is an evolving platform. This Privacy Policy may be updated as features, infrastructure, legal requirements, analytics, advertising systems, or data-processing practices change. Material changes should be communicated through reasonable means when appropriate. The latest version will always be made available on this page.
